Dream Matches, Top 5, RAW vs SD

Terrible drawings I've scanned; hardly good quality art, but hopefully
they're amusing.
RAW vs SmackDown
[temporarily on hold, since I'm not getting RAW at the moment]
What's this page? Well, every week, I make a few notes about what made
the shows really great, and what made them really weak, then make a judgement
about which brand performed better! Take a look, and feel free to share
your thoughts via email or the message board; if you come up with something
good that I missed, I will gladly add it! Naturally, everything listed
on here is only my opinion.
The Year 2002 In Review
A list of what happened, who was there doing what, and what my picks
for best/worst of the year are. The picks are just my opinions, but I did
try to list everything that I could recall under the catagories (e.g.,
'Feuds of 2002). If you can come up with anything that I forgot, please
let me know and I'll add it. I'm sure I left out some stuff and would appreciate
it if anyone can fill in the feuds/angles/ect that may have slipped my
mind.
2003: The Year in Progress
Keeping track of feuds, tag teams, heels, and anticipated returns as
we go along.

Guys that my opinion has changed the most on
Guys that I've gone from loving to hating, hating to loving, or somewhere in between.
(as of Summer through November 2002)
7. Matt Hardy (++) - It's been years since I was really into the Hardy Boys, but once Matt moved to SmackDown and began his "Version 1" character, he's zipped right up to the top of my favorites list! He's entertaining and adorable, and a valuable singles star. The Hardy Boys were getting very stale, it's refreshing to see Matt doing something so new and original.
6. John Cena (++) - I was not pleased when I heard John was coming to SD. I didn't care for what I'd seen of him at all. But, in a matter of weeks, my opinion totally reversed, and now he's one of the highlights of SD. When he's allowed to talk, he's wonderfully entertaining, and his ring skills are certainly impressive. He's quickly become one of my top favorites.
5. Jaime Noble (+)- I was very turned off by the red neck/trailer park gimmick at first, and seriously disliked him when he first debuted, but he's really grown on me a lot. Seeing him dressed as Elvis one week and as Nidia the next (Halloween) definitely helped to push me fully over the fence to liking him.
4. Brock Lesnar (+)- His initial showing in the WWE was just as a senseless monster, and I didn't see him as being capable of much. He was on my Top 5 dislikes list for most of his early months with the company. However, since August, he's been getting the opportunity to talk, develop a character, and to actually wrestle, rather than just having squash matches. I've been very impressed with him, and I think he's going to be an incredible talent in the future.
3. Test (-) - In the past, with the proper partner (Albert, Booker T), Test has managed to do some great stuff. But standing on his own, he's always fallen flat. I've done my best to overlook that on the basis of some of his great tag work, but Stacy Keibler is hardly a partner that will be able to cover up Test's lacking wrestling ability. The last thing that had me willing to call myself a Test fan at all, and his primary asset period, was his looks. But short haired Test has less sex appeal to me than anyone else on the roster. He has too many weaknesses and really no pluses to speak of, not to mention how annoying and shallow his current attempt at a character is.
2. Lance Storm (+) - Lance really bothered me for a long time. He screwed up and busted open several of my favorites, and chose to no-sell several matches, completely ruining the matches and more than annoying me. However, that was more than a year ago, when he first came to the company, and since then he's been safer in the ring and has been selling more. I also read some commentaries on his site, which I found very interesting and entertaining. In light of these developments, Storm has slipped off my dislikes list, and I would even say that I mildly like him.
1. Shawn Michaels (-)
- Chalk Michael's return up as my biggest wrestling-related letdown, period.
I never saw Michaels the first time around, but I have seen the DX video,
and have certainly heard a lot about him. But, as he himself said, HBK
is dead. And HBK was the entertaining side of him. Now, he's only a washed
up, dull, originality-lacking has been. Everything that got him over years
ago and made him such a legend is no longer a part of his character. Beyond
that, he's become a bible-thumping evangelist, who rather than delivering
feud-furthering speeches chooses to give sermons, in an extremely inappropriate
place. He's relying on his past to get him over and giving absolutely no
effort in the present, and that is something that will definitely not win
this fan over.
