Punk didn’t know how Elijah managed to always get his way. He dreamed up things Punk would never have attempted, then with his trademark smile and a bit of sweet flirting, he would find a way to achieve his goal.

Now here they were, kissing on top of the Eiffel Towel as the sun set over the towers of La Defense in the distance. It had to be the single most romantic moment of Punk’s life.

“I love you, baby,” Elijah murmured, backing off just enough to look into Punk’s enchanted eyes.

Punk sighed, resting his head on his lover’s shoulder as he gazed into the sunset. “This is beautiful,” he whispered, hugging Elijah tight against him. “I love you.” He chuckled softly. “I can’t believe you charmed that man into letting us come up here after closing.”

Elijah shrugged, rocking Punk gently in his arms. “He was a fan. I just happened to have that t-shirt.”

Punk chuckled again. “And I can’t believe he had you sign it with a lipstick kiss. That’s a first.”

“I think he’s gonna frame that lipstick tube, too,” Elijah murmured. “When I handed it back to him, he was holding it like the Holy Grail.”

“You are such a flirt,” Punk teased. “You didn’t have to kiss him, too.”

Elijah’s tongue flicked out between his lips as a wicked smile spread across his face. “It was only the cheek. A happy fan is a happy fan.”

Punk nodded in agreement, turning in Elijah’s arms so he could face the sunset. He leaned back against his lover, thinking how well the bright orange and pink glow in the sky reflected what he was feeling right now for Elijah. No other lover had romanced him so thoroughly, and even though they had been together more than a year, Elijah still romanced him as if they were newly lovers.

Early in their relationship, he had felt a bit guilty, feeling he contributed less than Elijah. He liked giving surprise kisses or impromptu cuddling and lovemaking sessions, but he didn’t have the knack for romance that Elijah did. As they grew closer, he had come to realize that Elijah was simply a giver. He enjoyed planning beautiful surprises, and it delighted him to see a smile on Punk’s face that he alone was responsible for. He had confessed to Punk on one sweet night of cuddling that never before had he felt such a desire to romance a man. It was his love for Punk that inspired him to think of a million different ways to inspire a smile.

“You are so beautiful,” Elijah whispered in his ear, making Punk’s grin grow wider. “More beautiful than any sunset in the world. I love you.”

Punk let his fingers interlace with Elijah’s, enjoying his lover’s warmth against his back as they gazed at the brilliant sunset. They let words fade away as they took in the beauty, the moment only too perfect in a gentle silence.
