"Hey Kurt."
Kurt looked up from his bag. Hunter had gone to talk to Vince, leaving him alone in their locker room with Chris. "Um, yeah?" he asked nervously.
Chris cried to smile. "I was thinking maybe we could go out and do something tonight. Just hang out, you know?"
Kurt swallowed. "Uh, yeah, I guess that would be a good idea," he replied. "We do have to try and learn how to work as a family, after all, since we will all be living together. We'll asked Hunter when - "
"No." Chris shook his head. "I mean, you know, just you and me."
"Really?" Kurt asked, feeling at the same time both hopeful and awkward.
"Yeah." Chris cleared his throat. "Listen Kurt, I'm really sorry about what I said earlier. This is just, well, it's really hard for me. I have to go from having Hunter all to myself to sharing him with you, and to be honest I don't like it at all. But I had a nice long talk with Hunter, and I know that you're not gonna be going anywhere, so I just have to try and get used to it. I figured that maybe if we hung out some, we could start getting used to being together."
Kurt gave Chris a little smile. "I'd really like that," he replied. "I really do want to get along with you Chris, I promise to try my best."
"Good." Chris took a deep breath. "I want us to be friends, for the sake of our babies. And for our own sanity too, I guess. And hey, maybe we could really help each other, you know? We're both gonna be going through the same thing, so we'll totally understand each other's pain."
"That's true." Kurt chucked. "I promise to hold your hair back when you throw up if you wipe my mouth after I do."
Chris laughed, the awkwardness between them decreasing a little as the merry sound filled the room. "We can share our pickle jars too," he snickered.
"And tell each other that we totally don't look fat," Kurt added.
"Absolutely." Chris grinned wickedly, raising his eyebrows at Kurt. "You know, this might not be so bad after all. I bet we can get Hunter to do anything we want! I mean, if it's just one pregnant boyfriend asking him for something, he could just ignore it and tell me or you to stop whining, but it's gonna take a lot more for him to say no to TWO pregnant boyfriends!"
"It is!" Kurt exclaimed, a grin spreading over his face. "Although I already had him going out for midnight pickle runs."
"Yeah, I did the same thing to Adam and Jay," Chris laughed. "I bet they were sooooo glad to get rid of me!"
"I bet they were." Kurt's grin widened. "You know when we have the babies, I think Hunter should change ALL the diapers! He is the one that knocked us both up, after all!"
"You're right!" Chris agreed. "He does totally owe us both. Sure, he gets a cuddly little baby to play with, but we're the ones who have to gain a ton of weight, have morning sickness, weird cravings, and outgrow all our clothes!"
"Oh geez, I hadn't even thought about shopping for maternity clothes!" Kurt made a face. "This is really not gonna be fun! Have you seen the shit they sell in the maternity section? It's all flowers and bunnies and crap! Ish! Like I'm wearing that!"
Chris giggled. "Maybe we can commission Matt to make us some cool maternity clothes," he suggested.
"Hey, that's an awesome idea! I bet he could make us some sweet stuff!" Kurt exclaimed. "We'll have to talk to him. You think he could make a version of those super cute red and black pants you've got?"
Chris raised an eyebrow. "Why? You don't think you could pull that style off do you?"
Kurt frowned. "I could!"
Chris stuck his tongue out. "Could not!"
"Could so!" Kurt shot back.
The two men just looked at each other for a moment, then both burst out laughing.
"Man, I thought we were HAVING babies, not turning into them!" Chris giggled.
"Can't we do both?" Kurt snickered. "You know whatever we wanna do, we can always pass it off as being 'cos we're pregnant."
"Hey, I didn't think of that!" Chris grinned. "And Hunter CAN'T leave us when we're pregnant with his babies, no matter what we do! This is exactly where I've always wanted a man!"
Both burst out laughing again. Kurt was still chuckling when he drew in a breath of air and spoke again. "So what do you want to do tonight?" he asked.
"Hmm." Chris tapped his chin. "No Hunter, right?"
"Definitely," Kurt agreed.
"Well then, I want to go clubbing!" Chris announced. "Adam and Jay never let me go anywhere, and I want to party while I can still fit into my pants!"
"Hunter never let me do ANYTHING," Kurt echoed, making a face. "Clubbing sounds awesome to me!"
"But no alcohol, of course," Chris stated, placing a hand on his belly. "Wouldn't want to hurt this little guy."
"Of course." Kurt placed his hand on his own belly, grinning over at Chris. "We'll tell Hunter that we're going somewhere tame and boring, just so he doesn't try to stop us."
"Oh yeah. We are going to have SO much fun tonight!" Chris exclaimed,
the two men gazing at each other for a moment, then bursting into giggles
again.
